Remember that movie the ghostwriter, where a prominent figure decides to hire a ghostwriter for ghostwriting services like writing a book for him? It was a pretty good movie. It was interesting to me that this is something that goes on everyday. Many of the books we read may or not be written by the author’s name on the book. I’m sure they have a lot of input, but the actual writing is done by someone else. Hey, I think it’s all great. If you can’t do it yourself and you can afford to have someone else do it for you then by all means – get it done. Could be your best work ever and as long as you have the means to back it up and get the word out – then job well done.

I have always loved to cook. Since we got satellite tv by direct TV, I have started watching Food Network. My favorite show to watch is Semi-homemade with Sandra Lee. In each episode, Sandra shows delicious recipes using shortcuts. For example, she made a pineapple cake using boxed cake mix instead of making it from scratch, but used fresh pineapple. My favorite show of Sandra’s was when she showed how to make restaurant recipes like barbecue chicken pizza and cinnamon rolls. For the pizza she used pizza dough from her favorite pizzeria instead of making her own and used packaged cooked chicken instead of cooking it herself. She used fresh ingredients for the other toppings. For the cinnamon rolls she used frozen bread dough. These shortcuts make the cooking a lot easier, but the food still tastes homemade. My grandmother would not like these shortcuts because she used to make everything from scratch. However, nobody has time to do that these days. It would be nice to do that if I had the time, but why take so much time when it tastes just as good making it semi-homemade?
One of the most daunting tasks ever is to plan, design and construct a hotel casino. I am in awe when I see architects and engineers surveying an empty lot and creating a plan for such an enormous project. This mammouth undertaking could fall flat on its face if the perfect power system analysis isn’t done. The intracacies involved in putting up an incredible thousand plus room hotel and an equally mind blowing modern casino is as difficult an undertaking as I can imagine. I was in Las Vegas when construcion of the Bellagio Hotel and Casino began. All I saw was a vast expanse of sandy soil. To see it now, truly is amazing.

The stigma created by watching movies centered around a salesroom like in one of my favorites, Glengarry Glen Ross, has been a difficult one to shake loose. Looking inside the minds of desperate and crudely heartless individuals that would sell their souls for a commission leaves us to believe you can’t trust anyone when dealing over the telephone. The boiler room syndrome has had its negative effect. When I was a much younger man, I had the great priviledge of seeing a film titled, “Fire Sale.” To me this film will always be the benchmark of comedy. Sid Cesar left me needing oxygen therapy after uncontrollably laughing for two solid hours. The premise of having his furniture destroyed by a fire his son orchestrated was the most hilarious experience of my life. If he had furniture retail software, this may never had occurred. Fortunately, for the comedy lovers of the world, he didn’t have it. If you ever feel you are taking life too seriously, see this film.
What could possibly be next? It seems like every ten to fifteen minutes I have to learn to spell another kind of scientific word. Mesenchymal stem cells, AHA! I got it right. Now, if I only could figure out what it is that they do. On second thought, I’d rather leave that to the ultra smarties that discovered them. I do expect to read about many more of these microscopic buggers in the very near future. All kidding aside, these dedicated, hard working geniuses are breaking new ground every day and certainly have earned a place in medical science history.
Isolation of T cells is looming as an extremely effective way to combat foreign invaders in our bodies. It is a natural function of these T-stem cells to do battle like little soldiers in defense of our bodies. The isolation could prove to have additional benefit in so far as controlling the attack on the specific enemy. Like its brother, the B cell, the T cell has more potential when isolated for direct hits in lieu of general defense. It is interesting to view these cells as a team of units serving for the same cause. It’s like having a private army.
